“The broken will always be able to love harder than most. Once you’ve been in the dark, you learn to appreciate everything that shines.” Zachary K. Douglas, Author, A Journal From The Sea, 2016
I’m on the road this week with my husband. His mother is dealing with end of life issues. Conversely the whole family is dealing with the process too. She has made her wishes known. I’m grateful for the quality time they are able to spend together. Grateful for the time I have to get to know her. Thank you for all the kind words, thoughts, prayers and love sent their way. They are humbled by the outpouring of love. Be sure the same love and kindness is on its way back to you! That’s how the universal law of sowing and reaping works. Cast some good bread on the waters because you are going to eat it when it comes back to you. I can’t speak for you but I like to eat good food, so I prefer to send my best out into the world and those around me. I’m not perfect, but I give it my all everyday to be better than I was the day before.
None of us really own anything in this world. Stuff is stuff. Easy come easy go. It grieves me for humanity to be so enrapt in material things over matters of the heart. People go hungry, thirsty and without shelter and basic necessities for living. When it comes to “stuff”, let’s be sure our fellow brothers and sisters have basic necessities and be charitable to each other.
Don’t get me wrong, I am partial to my creature comforts but if it were all gone today or tomorrow and I had no “stuff”…I would be just fine. Wink.
Grieving is a painful process. We all face it. Everyone grieves differently and not for any of us to judge how an individual grieves. Healing can be found in the grieving, if you open yourself up to the process of coming full circle.
Maybe the times we grieve are appointed? Maybe they are a divine opportunities that knock? A lesson in life to learn and silver lining to be found? Inner peace.
I’m inclined to think along these lines. I’m in awe of the healing I’ve been witness too. Honored to be present. Peace has been found and wounds have been healed. Healing that started here will continue for years to come.
What about love?
They know the secret. The secret we must all learn and know before we exit this life:
The love you carry and hold in your space is all you really own. Period. Give freely and likewise receive freely. That’s where the healing happens. Don’t sweat over the small stuff. The stuff won’t heal you or bring you peace. Love does that.
Love is energy and it goes with us. Energy never dies. Love never dies.
Knowing this and acknowledging this is a step in the right direction. Living it is being the change you want to see in this world.
Thank you for connecting with me!!
Infinite love and gratitude,
